Marijn Bax (1981) is a Dutch artist whose practice spans still- and moving image, audio, and installation. With a background in Social Cultural Studies and a Master’s in Arts (Photography), her work explores dialogue, movement, and transformation. Drawing on the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas, Bax invites audiences to engage—or not—with her work, prompting reflection on human behavior and our relationship to time, shaped by culture and history. Her projects dissolve the boundary between observer and participant, creating intimate experiences that, through slowing down, challenge perception.
